Abstract: Background: SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists both improve important outcomes in type 2 diabetes, but their relative value depends on the outcome and patient characteristics. Objective: To demonstrate a clear outcome-specific evidence benchmarking framework using published research available through 2024. Methods: We organized eligible published summaries by glycemic, cardiovascular, kidney, weight and safety outcomes. The proposed benchmark records the outcome, direction of effect, comparator, effect measure, uncertainty and evidence limitations. As a reproducible example, we converted two published odds ratios from the 2023 BMJ network meta-analysis to the logarithmic scale. Results: For all-cause mortality versus standard treatment, both classes had a published odds ratio of 0.88. The log value for each is approximately −0.128. This illustrates effect-scale transformation, not a newly calculated direct comparison. Contemporary 2024 guidance and the FLOW trial provide additional kidney-risk context. Conclusion: Domain-based reporting makes existing evidence easier to audit and interpret; it does not replace a new systematic search, head-to-head trial or statistical meta-analysis.
